Drink Enough Water:
Since our body is 70% water, it only makes good sense to stay well hydrated. The body’s water supply is responsible for all major body processes including, digestion, absorption, circulation and elimination. Water is also a transporter for all nutrients to every cell in the body and hence necessary for their proper function. While each individual varies in the amount of water they need for good health, the basic formula is about two quarts per day as a minimum. Obviously no hard and fast rule of thumb formula works for everyone since size, weight, activity level and amount of bodily toxins one carries is unique to each individual. Dr. F. Batmanghelidi has written extensively on the enormous health maintenance and restorative benefits of water and more information can be found on his website www.watercure.com.
All disease processes involve inflammation!!!!
What additional foods should we eliminate or at best use sparingly? Virtually the whole American diet consists of an overabundance of meat, sugar, white flour, and processed oils and dairy products.
a. Red Meat: Should be eliminated. Saturated fat and cholesterol found in high amounts in many meats and animal fats increase risk of hardening of arteries and heart disease: colon, rectal, prostate and breast cancer are higher in meat eaters. Extremely high protein in meat can put excess stress on kidneys and liver, and can possibly cause calcium depletion and gouty arthritis due to high uric acid content. All commercially raised meats contain hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and other toxins which tax the digestive and immune system
Meat contains no carbohydrates, no fiber, no Vitamin C, calcium or any important antioxidants
b. White Flour: is stripped of all important B Vitamins, iron, fiber and essential oils, raises insulin and contributes to obesity. It is best to avoid all white flour products.
c. Sugar: The average American consumes 160/lbs./year. Sugar consumption is linked to obesity, hypoglycemia, Diabetes, heart disease, mood swings, anxiety, depression and hormone imbalances.
d. Dairy: Cow’s milk was designed for calves, not humans. 70% of world’s population does not drink milk, eat cheese or ice cream. According to WHO the countries that consume the most milk products have the highest rates of osteoporosis, allergies, cancer and diabetes. Dairy products have very high calcium but low levels of magnesium needed for absorption. Many physicians feel at least 50% of children are allergic to cow’s milk and upwards of 80% of adults have lactose intolerance. Milk contains high amounts of growth hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and other chemical residues.
Recent estimates from knowledgeable authorities state that most American are deficient in one or more of the B-Vitamins, Vitamin C, calcium, Vitamin E, selenium and beta carotene and a whole host of other antioxidants and phytonutrients
a. Vegetables and Fruits (organic is best) b. Nuts and Seeds c. Whole grains d. Cold water fish e. Essential Oils including flaxseed, olive, and grape seed f. Herbal teas including green, chamomile, peppermint etc.
